I have access to an extra ticket, and am hoping to bring my 82yo stepdad tomorrow. He has a bad back, sometimes walks with a walker, ideally would be able to have a seat-back. He says he can just "sit on his coat" but I was wondering if anyone was aware of what options there may be at Rec for someone like him. I know--more forethought would undoubtedly have made this simpler, but I'm not aware of what accommodations may be made. Is there somewhere a walker could be stashed? Could we bring a folding seatback? etc.

Pretty sure everyrhing is bleacher style seating in rec hall, so bringing a folding seatback should be fine. Not sure about storing a walker unfortunately.

Rec Hall is 100% accessible if you know which entrance/pathway to take. Choose the wrong patway and its lots of steps. If you can race ahead and get the scoop from the attendants before your dad is climbing sets of steps.

Thanks. He’s pretty ambulatory today—the real question is the seat back. Anyone know if these are permitted in Rec?

No idea, and no one to ask officially today...do have a call in to someone who might know...but not knowing where you're coming from...we might get the info too late.

They were the last time I went to the Nittany Lion Open, which was a few years back. Not sure if the rules are different for duals.

If you can't take seatbacks, sit in N3L Row 13, Seats 3 and 5. 2 steps down from mezzanine level and it has the railing directly behind you, so he should be able to lean against that. I'll go stand with some friends in SRO. And, I won't take no for an answer.

Sorry, reached someone, and they’re looking into it...but leaving now and may not get to respond. Sounds like you have choices...enjoy!

Thanks everyone. Going to try to bring a seat back, but I’ll look for you @pawrestlersintn, if the need arises--if so, you're welcome to claim our S4L seats.

Which is exactly why I asked for the seats MANY years back. :D
