May head up for the F1 race in June if I can score tix. Never been to Montreal, so looking for any input on good places to stay. They have jacked up the hotel prices for the weekend.

I know that Montreal has a good subway/train system, which goes to the track, so that will help in getting around.

Honest input and attempts at humor are welcome.

Olympic Stadium should you want to get a true feel for what 'world without borders' would be like. Thank you.

Yes, the place to be is near the "old" european looking area around the Notre Dame Cathedral or even closer to the water. It is very nice just a few blocks north of there as well, a bit further from the River.

I stayed at a nice big hotel off Rue St. Catherine's?. near John F Kennedy place a few years ago for a Sunday through Thursday conference a week after labor day, and it was one of the best places I have ever visited. I'd even go there in the winter. I could walk in any direction find all sorts of great restaurants, bars, plus all sorts of good looking exotic looking women with French accents everywhere. I liked it much more than Toronto, and Toronto isn't bad.

Toronto is the Canadian version of New York City. Montreal is the Canadian version of an European city.

If I was to live in Montreal, it would be in Mt. Royal.
