Since I'll be away from the site tomorrow, I decided to just post a recap on Mark Gilbert's visit now. Like I posted earlier today when I previewed his visit, Gilbert's a really bright young man. He carries himself well and really cares about academics. He actually wants to study law, so from a character perspective, I think he's a guy that would really fit in well at PSU.
He also noted that PSU should be top five come decision time. Personally, I think they may be in an even better position than that. I got the vibe that, currently, they're in his top three, so we'll just have to see who else offers during the evaluation period and this summer. He's undecided if he'll camp at any schools this summer.
Gilbert will also likely visit PSU again this summer. He wants to wrap up everything this summer, but he's not going to rush it. I got the vibe that, as long as no major schools offer mid-summer or late-summer, he'll probably get his decision out of the way.
