It's been a busy week, so I figured it'd be a good time for a chat. I have been able to learn a bit more on the decommitments we saw this week.
- I already hit on Toutant. He was mainly concerned about fitting in with the current players and commitments. Grant is a great kid, but he's also pretty quiet and keeps to himself. It's similar to Zachary Franks last year. Not much the coaching staff can do there. He just started feeling more comfortable with the kids committed to Ohio State.
- Confirmed again with more people that Moten's decision genuinely centered around visits. He wanted to take visits and PSU, obviously, didn't want that. He ultimately felt like he had no choice but to open up his recruitment to take those trips. Josh did commit to Penn State too early. I don't think it's a stretch to say that. He really only visited Maryland and NC State when it came to other schools pursuing him, so he probably shouldn't have committed in the first place.
- Still trying to learn more with Parks. I've heard a bunch of different things, so it feels like we may never really know what happened there. I've heard everything from college coaches elsewhere putting thoughts in his head to his relationship with Limegrover not being all that great. He's always said nothing but good things about Limegrover and Bowen, so who knows.
- People at National Christian Academy continue to say that Penn State isn't out of it with Moten and Parks, but personally, I'd be surprised if they end up joining this class again. I'm really not expecting much from them moving forward.
Ok, we got the negative stuff out of the way. Lets have a positive chat. haha.
