I caught up with DT Elijah Conliffe of Hampton (Va.) last night after he recently released a Top 11 that includes Penn State. He comments on each of the final schools at the link.

Penn State is definitely in the mix right now, probably top 3, but it does sound like Tennessee is in a slightly better spot, possibly even the school out front at the moment. He's currently scheduled to check out the Volunteers this weekend. His next unofficial visit after that is to Alabama for a camp in July. Bama has been Conliffe's favorite team since I first started talking to him earlier this year, but he isn't putting it on the list without an offer. If he were to get one while he was down there, though, Bama would shoot to one of the top spots.
Along with PSU and Tennessee, Ole Miss is also up there right now, and he's hoping to check them out while he's down seeing Bama next month but nothing is scheduled yet. The only other visit date he has set is to Penn State for the Lasch Bash July 16. Otherwise, Oklahoma definitely has his interest. I just don't see him going that far away from home. N.C. State is the other school to watch here. He says he's more familiar with that staff than anyone else, so while they might not get the publicity like some of his other suitors, that's a team that'll stay close until the end.
Conliffe, who confirmed that PSU likes him best at three-technique DT, says he's in no rush to announce a decision. He plans to trim his list again in September before making a call.
