I briefly caught up with two of the latest 2019 prospects to earn a Penn State offer last night: Emery Simmons & Kendrell Flowers
I don't have a ton of info. I want to do a more complete interview with each, but one thing I will note from the start is that PSU appears to be serious about both Simmons and Flowers. I don't look at these offers as an attempt to get the ball moving with other prospects. I've already seen that question a few times on the board.
Simmons committed to Indiana back on March 18, but he's already visited North Carolina, so it's clear that he's interested in other schools.
In regards to Penn State, he's already talked to the staff about visiting for the Whiteout in September.
"I have to talk it over with the family about coming this summer, but I do plan on taking an official there during the fall, possibly for the whiteout game against OSU."
Flowers also said that he plans to visit Penn State fairly soon. .
"I'm supposed to be visiting later this summer," he said. "I just have to figure out some specifics still. But I'm very interested. My coach is friends with Coach Corley, so we're all planning to come up to Penn State when we can."
In addition to Penn State, Tennessee is one of the more recent schools to offer Flowers, so he could be on the verge of blowing up. I know PSU is recruiting him as a running back.
Keep an eye on these two. I expect to see Flowers on campus sooner than later. Simmons wants to visit unofficially, so we'll see what happens.
