We have one more week of visits coming up before the August dead period kicks in for preseason, and so far I've confirmed a handful of prospects who are expected to be in State College in the days ahead. We also have the Lasch Bash on Saturday. That list will come a bit later in the week. So far, here's what I have confirmed for the days ahead.
- Adam Friedman confirmed again this evening that 2022 WR Andre Greene is expected to be on campus tomorrow for an unofficial visit. As I've discussed before, I get the impression that PSU is behind at least a handful of schools. Clemson, Georgia and North Carolina are all likely ahead of PSU at the moment, and possibly a few others, but this is the staff's chance to put themselves in the mix. In addition to Georgia and North Carolina, he also took an official visit to Oregon last month, while Notre Dame has an official visit set for October, so this recruitment should drag well into the season. If PSU could add any wide receiver right now, it would be Greene over Clemons, in my opinion, but there's work to do.
- I don't have him on the list currently, but I was told that top 2023 QB Jaden Rashada is expected to visit tomorrow. I believe the California native is traveling to the East Coast currently, so I'm waiting for him to respond, but sources confirmed that he's expected to be in State College Tuesday. Rashada is ranked No. 70 in the nation by Rivals. Auburn, Florida, Utah and Washington are among the other top schools to offer so far. Once I confirm with the player, I'll add him to the list.
- Life Christian Academy OL Josh Miller is also expected Tuesday. Between him, Rashada and Greene, this is setting up to be an important day tomorrow. Miller's team attended the 7-on-7 & Big Man Challenge about a month ago. I see him as more of a guard than a tackle at the next level, but we'll see how much he grows over the next year. Good player though. I think he could be a four-star at some point.
- On Wednesday, Good Counsel Ath. Neeo Avery confirmed that he'll be back in State College. He was also in town for the 7-on-7 & Big Man Challenge last month. I see him as a tight end at the next level, although he wants to play quarterback this fall. Also, Florida DB CB Antonio Robinson is expected to make the trip. Robinson is up to 18 scholarship offers now, including Florida, Miami, South Carolina and Texas.
- On Thursday, I'm being told that Gonzaga OL Evan Link is expected to visit. Link hasn't responded to me yet, and he's not one to talk much, but if he does between now and Thursday, I'll add him to the list. Link is up to 14 scholarship offers now. Michigan and South Carolina are the two most recent schools.
- On Friday, OL Dylan Senda from Michigan is expected to be in State College for the first time. Iowa, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan State and West Virginia have all offered so far.
