Penn State offered OL Tyler Catalina today. A native of Worcester, Mass., Catalina started all 11 games for Rhode Island University in 2015 as a redshirt junior at left tackle and will transfer to complete his college career at a Power Five program. I've been in contact with a member of Catalina's family today in order to confirm the offer. In that conversation, I was informed that Catalina has interest in PSU and is in the process of scheduling a visit, but no date has been set as of now.

Catalina committed to Iowa State in December to continue his playing career there, but since he won't be graduating until May from RI, he is not closing any doors on other opportunities. He recently visited Florida, which definitely grabbed his interest, and he has a visit scheduled to Auburn (Feb. 19-21.) His family member also tells me that Missouri recently offered and Alabama and Oregon have both been in contact. Penn State has been showing interest for a little while now, so this offer isn't a complete surprise. It's one that Catalina has been wanting, but PSU is going to have competition in order to land him.
