I caught up with DeaMonte Trayanum this morning. He admitted that he's down to Penn State and Arizona State. I thought that was interesting because I was under the impression that he's a take for Ohio State. However, I do get the vibe that Arizona State is the favorite. I don't think it's a done deal yet, but a few people have hinted now that he's leaning towards heading out west.
Here's what he had to say about the visit:
- On what stood out overall
"The whole trip. I had a good time, so there weren't any highlights really. I liked it all. I liked being around the players and coaches throughout the weekend. Their coaching staff stands out."
- On who hosted him and what they talked about
"I hung out a lot with my host, Micah Parsons. We share the same mindset. We were just talking ball the whole time."
- On his talks with Seider and Franklin
"Coach Seider and Coach Franklin had the same message. They think I'm a guy that can help the program get back to the very top. Coach Seider was showing me how easy the inside zone concepts are."
- On his recruitment moving forward
"It's going to be either Arizona State or Penn State. An announcement is coming soon."
