I confirmed two additional unofficial visits this evening.
- I spoke with Rivals250 DL Hakeem Beamon's mother this evening. She informed me that Hakeem plans to be on campus this time next week, Monday, April 16. Beamon visited Penn State twice last season for the games against Georgia State and Michigan. Next week's visit will also be his first to PSU since he backed out of his commitment to North Carolina last month.
In addition to his trip to Penn State, Beamon plans to go to Alabama for its spring game on April 21. He's also in the process of setting up an unofficial visit to Ohio State, but nothing is set at this time.
- Penn State will also host one of its top targets at cornerback next month in Suwanee, Ga., native Warren Burrell. The Rivals250 prospect informed me this evening that he just set an unofficial visit with the staff last night. That visit will take place in about a month from now, May 12.
Burrell has already taken one unofficial visit to University Park, attending the game against Michigan in October. He's built a strong relationship with Terry Smith, so this is a positive sign that the Lions are still very much in the mix with one of Georgia's top prospects. So far this year, he's visited Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee. Burrell would like to wrap up his recruitment this summer if possible, but nothing is set in stone at this time.
