I spoke with some contacts earlier today about this upcoming weekend. For the most part, the main thing I took away from that conversation is that this weekend won't be a big one when it comes to recruiting. That tends to be the case on Easter weekend.
I know Kyree Campbell's name has been thrown around for a potential visit this weekend, but that's looking unlikely. There is a chance that he could get in touch with a coach tonight or tomorrow to officially set that up, but as of now, I know he's not expected to be here.
As for who will be here, the top prospect that I'm currently aware of is 2018 OL FILM). I've hit on him in the past. He already holds two offers from Rutgers and Syracuse and I've gotten the impression that it's only a matter of time until Penn State also offers. It could happen this weekend, but I think the staff wants to work with him at camp first this summer. Even if that doesn't happen this summer, he'll get an offer at some point.
I also know that Union City head coach Wilbur Valdez is bringing a few players up. Signees Daiquan Kelly and Steven Gonzalez are expected to be here, as well as a host of their younger teammates. 2016 DL FILM) is a name to remember. He holds a couple offers already. With defensive line being a major priority this year, I think he's a guy to note in the future.
Another guy to note is 2017 LB Harrison Fernandez (FILM). Ive heard good things about Fernandez when I've spoken with Union City coaches in the past. Another player to note then is DE Jose Tavares. I believe he's a 2017 prospect, but I have to get more info on Tavares. I know he's 6-4, 238 already, but I haven't found any film on him yet. I got to get both of these two added to the Rivals.com database.
LB FILM) are expected to be at practice tomorrow.
I'm sure I'll learn of a few additional visitors in the next 24 hours. I'll make a post if I hear of anyone.
