I was able to identify three quality prospects that are set to visit Penn State this weekend.

As I posted yesterday, the most notable of those players is CB Deon Jones (FILM) from Archbishop Carroll in Washington, D.C. I have to be honest, I really don't know a whole lot about Jones. He's never really communicated with myself or any of my colleagues much. I've asked about Penn State and other schools over the past year. I think I've talked to him once, so it's not going to be easy to get a recap on Jones' visit. I'll do my best, but it's going to be tough.

As you can see from Jones' offer sheet, he's one of the top defensive backs in the mid-Atlantic region for 2017. A lot of my colleagues believe that Clemson is a player here, but I don't think anyone truly has an accurate feel for what Jones is really thinking. I know he's taken two visits to Maryland this spring, so the Terps could also be moving up his board.

Another player to keep an eye on this weekend is TE Charles Reeves (FILM) from Steubenville, Ohio. From talking to contacts, I do believe there's a real chance that Reeves could land an offer from the staff at some point. Right now, I'm trying to see if that offer could come this weekend or if the staff would prefer to see him workout first, either during the upcoming evaluation period or for camp in June.

The third prospect is New Castle (Pa.) Neshannock TE Tyler Sear (FILM). Sear is in a similar position to Reeves. I know the staff has real interest here. I know he could land an offer from Penn State at some point. I'm just not really sure if that could come in the near future or if the staff would prefer to first see him workout later this month during the evaluation period.

I'll be reaching out to all three prospects come Sunday and into next week to try and learn more.
