Jerry Remy, Red Sox icon on the field and in the broadcast booth, dies at 68 - The Boston Globe

Mr. Remy, an undersized everyman of a ballplayer who hustled his way from Somerset to the big leagues, died Saturday. He had undergone repeated treatments for cancer since he was first diagnosed in 2008.

Wow, that's awful. Didn't he throw out the first pitch a few weeks ago at a Sox playoff game? He was a really good player in his day. RIP.
