Emmert's last day as NCAA president was yesterday, former Massachussets governor Charlie Baker takes over as NCAA president today.

Emmert destroyed the NCAA. He mismanaged every situation possible, especially PSU. IMHO the NCAA will be no more in 5 years. You’ll see 5 super conferences take over. No reason to give the NCAA a cut of the money for doing next to nothing.

Agreed. His leaving the NCAA is about 15 years too late.

Did I read correctly he made $29 million dollars on compensation for his 12 years of elite service to collegiate sports?

The NCAA makes virtually all of its money from basketball, anyway. There's really no reason other than history and tradition for the NCAA to be involved in major college football today. In fact, they'd probably be better to get away from it entirely.
