Former Seminole defensive back Myron Rolle, a Rhodes Scholar, is about to begin his neurosurgery residency at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital:

When working at Mass General I wonder if he will bump into Charles Emerson Winchester III? (You have to remember/have watched "M.A.S.H." for that one.)

Myron Rolle has always been quite impressive to me.

It reminds me that we are not the only school that produces great athletes that are also students.

I have always been amazed and impressed with individuals who are both athletically and intelligently gifted.

Myron is certainly such an individual.

He is a very impressive young man. He matched into an outstanding program. Our son matched into his first choice surgical residency on friday too. The commitment it takes to be really successful in med school is unreal. Congrats to all the med students that matched on Friday.

To me, it's artistic brilliance and intelligence. Someone who can paint, play an instrument or sing and dance as equally well as they can solve physics problems is most impressive.

Running fast? Putting a ball through a hoop? Nice. But let's see them play the horn, paint a landscape or sing an opera.

Those people amaze me that can do BOTH art and science, well.

Urschel is an outlier, too. All the math genius people I ever knew were introverted and socially awkward. They certainly weren't capable of being professional athletes.
Some people just have it all, I guess.
