Report: Ezekiel Elliot cited for crash, driving w/suspended license

...$$$$$$$$$$$...

...don't wanna affect the betting line and upset the bookies...;)

Nothing to see here. I'm sure he was just out on another test drive from the local dealership. Some scUM fan probably cut him off and caused him to crash the dealer's automobile while he was on his way to deliver Christmas toys to orphans. Happens all the time. I guess.

Interested in knowing what type of luxury car this "student-athlete" was driving. Remember, OSU is the school that lobbied for money for "student-athletes'" families so they could travel and see their "student athletes" play in bowl games. "Student-athletes'" families don't need money if their child (who is making $3k a year) is driving a mercedes.

Also, apparently everyone on the Ozone has a suspended driver's license. So this must be pretty common in OH.

Then the ncaa can't act. Suspended licenses were not restricted to the athletes.

And yes, I. AM. OUTRAGED.

These things snowball. Just like Urbie at Florida. When the rest of the team sees there are no consequences for F'g up, you start to see some Animal House sh#t go down.

Yep. I'm waiting for the Ohio state fan invasion now that this news is out there.

I'd like to know- why does he have a suspended license to begin with? What car was he driving and who was it registered to? What was the cause of the crash? What is Urbie's excuse for not punishing him?

We will see if any Ohio media dig into this or it gets lost in the shuffle because they have a 'big game coming up' that takes precedent.

I'm not holding my breath since the official police report on the incident wasn't even finished yet but Ohio State already had their spokesman tell the press this would not affect his status for the game. ;)

Elliot is done...He doesn't need to, nor plan to, return to tOSU as he's going to be drafted in the spring by the NFL.

I believe he is uninsured if he is driving under those circumstances as well. Whatever damage he did to the car (article said it was single vehicle) and the property he crashed into is probably not covered by his insurance due to his own negligence and willfully driving without a license.

Its been almost an hour since the OP. Where is the Buckeye Truth Squad to explain this?
Judge has really done it now. The Buckeye Rapid Reaction email force has mustered and has reached the outskirts of Fort Pitt:

The fact that an accident occurred does not mean much to me at this point (different if he was drunk at the time). And driving on a suspended license is done every day in this country, so it may not be that big of deal...However, I think this could lead to some very interesting information if people dig, that's where this could be a big deal...
1. Why was his license suspended? If for multiple traffic infractions in dealer cars, that could be informative
2. Whose car was driving at time of accident? No one would rent to him if he didn't have a license or insurance, unless they were doing it on the down low.....

Otherwise, I don't really blame Meyer for not suspending him for an accident or such a trivial charge as driving with a suspended license (millions, or at least hundreds of thousands of illegial immigrants do it every day). Push UPs, running stairs are proper punishments for this (the legal system is in charge of punishing the criminal behavior) However, it could lead to interesting places if any reporter actually took the time.....

Wait, the legal system is in charge of punishing criminal behavior? Does the NCAA know that?

Wrong, once you do massive property damage while intentionally driving without a valid license (which also voids your insurance), it is quite a bit different situation. He could have just as easily killed somebody running off the road like that. Just because he wasn't drunk doesn't mean he isn't in serious $hit relative to all the damage he's caused.

Dandy's threshold for sitting out a game must involve some sort of live broadcast human sacrifice.

Joe's involved (for Jurevicius anyway) missing a group project meeting.

The Columbus dispatch says he hit another car with 2 people inside. 1 had minor injuries (treated at scene). I'm sure insurance will be an issue...

BTW, unlike the Columbus article, this article says the accident DID involve a second vehicle with two people in the other vehicle (and one of the passengers of the vehicle he hit reported injuries). Click here for article. This article correctly states that he was charged with Driving Without a License as his License had been suspended for cause (there is no such thing as "driving with a suspended license" -- that is the Columbus article trying to make his actions look "less wrong"). He is going to be in deep $hit with the insurance companies having hit a second vehicle while driving without a license (and therefore without insurance).

He can borrow against his NFL salary....which will be several million by this summer. My guess is that the damage to both cars and medical will be less than $10,000. Regardless, he wasn't coming back to tOSU so what can they do? Suspend him for the bowl game? Big deal.

Spot on.

An accident is just that, an accident. There was no intent to cause the accident from what I have seen. A guy does not need to be suspended for being a bad driver. The fact that he is unlicensed has no relevance as to who was fault or the causation of the accident.

Being unlicensed is the proper subject matter for the criminal court system. Don't think this conduct rises to level where a university is embarrassed to the point of having to suspend him.

Joe suspending Joe was completely appropriate on he other hand. He was suspending him for his conduct as a student at PSU which directly reflected upon what should be the chief goal of any institution, educating the student.

You are completely full of it - it is not "an accident" that he was DRIVING ILLEGALLY and without insurance. Your post is laughable and he has no defense against any claims made against him in the incident, you're full of crap.
