The plan would involve 10 conference games, no non conference games, if they are able to play in the fall.

I wonder if once this kind of thing gets out to all conferences they don't just completely push back everybody's schedule 1 year and then do this year separate or if they just cancel all contracts and just add a conference game as they need
Ha on same wavelengthWhat if all the conferences decide to play conference only? That would mean Notre Dame (and any other independents) would have no one to play!
They would join the ACC and thats OKOne thing I do like about this is that it seems like Notre Dame's going to get crapped on in this deal. If everybody goes to conference games then they're out of luck. It will probably also forced them into a conference for next year.
I was going to the game in Blacksburg so I'm thinking this gives me a chance at finding better accommodations for the road trip next year if it happensWell, sucks that we wont be seeing PSU vs VT this year... but if we are able to get these 10 games to happen I'll still be more than happy. Week 1 would be a little scary though as it will be versus a better opponent than Kent State.

OK if the NCAA does that and pushes things back a year the D1AA and DII schools would have financial setbacks. You are talking thousands in just helmets and shoulder pads alone for the extended rostersI wonder what the impact would be, pushing everything back a year. Seems there might be a log jam when you bring in a new class and the old classes are still there (unless a lot of the seniors simply leave).
I was only referring to the scheduling of games not players being around. I would think many seniors and underclassmen like Parsons who are going to go early in the draft wouldn't play an extra year.I wonder what the impact would be, pushing everything back a year. I think they should play 1 OOC game as a tuneup but I totally agree that they should cut the other two in order to buy more time. The plan would involve 10 conference games, no non conference games, if they are able to play in the fall.

They will play their ACC schedule. But other indys? Who knows. What if all the conferences decide to play conference only? That would mean Notre Dame (and any other independents) would have no one to play!

No log jam. Difficult roster decisions. Those who are draft prospects would leave anyway. Schools don't (won't ) have the funds to offer more scholarships, even should the NCAA allow it....I think Barry Alvarez was very up front about this in the spring with Wisky spring athletes. Stanford dropping, what 13 sports.....just the beginning.I wonder what the impact would be, pushing everything back a year. Ok so what better than no season at all. But no easy answerAnd if this falls apart and the move is to spring ball, you can bet anyone who thinks they are going to get drafted will pass on playing in the spring.

How cool...BahahahaOr all the independents just play each other in home and home series.
You could get 10 or so games, there are 6 independents this year.
Just saw a blurb on Twitter from Mandel quoting one of the other writers from the Athletic saying that all indications are the Pac12 will be making a similar announcement within a few days.
Oh and the Big Ten is official as of a few minutes ago.
First step toward not playing at all this fall.Just saw a blurb on Twitter from Mandel quoting one of the other writers from the Athletic saying that all indications are the Pac12 will be making a similar announcement within a few days.

Rightfully so. No Parsons, but no Fields etc.And if this falls apart and the move is to spring ball, you can bet anyone who thinks they are going to get drafted will pass on playing in the spring.
Isn't BYU still independent? The FIGHTING. IRISH. will have to play with themselves.

My wife and I have tickets also along with hotel rooms (which can be cancelled). Not sure the game could be rescheduled for 2021 with schedules determined so far in advance.I was going also and had I room booked right in walking distance to stadium. doubt it would happen next year. Too many moving parts with contracts.
