Do you realize that the U.S. spends more per capita on education than virtually every country in the world excluding Luxembourg.

More than Germany, France, Canada, etc.
We give the ghettocrats 12 years of free education. What are the results? They can't even make my fries hot.

Well @maypole? Are we to believe that you live paycheck-to-paycheck and don't have a dime to invest, or that there is no way you can cut your standard of living so that you can become a part owner and reap the benefits of this corporate greed?

Good effort on trying to educate the willfully ignorant hordes of cultists on this board. As you can tell from their responses, they are brainwashed by the constant stream of lies that they lap up from their right wing media masters. They are unreachable and too far gone to redeem. Fortunately their time is coming to end and all their attempts to steal power at the expense of democracy will fail as evident by the election. Trump opened a Pandora’s Box of hate, victim syndrome, and stupidity; a brutal combination. And these people are a prime example and the worst this country has to offer.

Everyone who disagrees with Royal is a cultist😲

What's hilarious is that he uses terms like "brainwashed" and "victim" to describe conservatives, including the word "hate," when he is the one described best by those terms.

Members of Royal's brainwashed Democratic Party move on mass together like a hive. You are just fine no matter what you think as long as you support The Party. You can be unable to speak, unable to organize thoughts, and still be considered suitable for high office. You can be a felon or an illegal alien and the Dems would consider your view with the same weight as a model citizen, as long as you support The Party. Look at this board. You will never see a lib oppose another lib no matter how absurd the post.

Then there is the "victim" term, what they've done to an entire race through things like BLM and Critical Race Theory, turning everyone into either an oppressor or a victim. And this is what they want taught to children in schools, as they sexualize them.

We must also mention "hate." Royal's posts are full of rage. It was his party that burned cities. It is people within cities -- Democrats, "victims" -- committing vast amounts of hate crimes. (Since when was murder not a hate crime? How about theft? Burning a building? Pushing people in front of a subway car? .... No hate there, just "equity.")

Truth is this: The Democrats have to search hard and wide to validate their claims, when all they really need to do to end the search is to look in a mirror.

America has been transformed since the reagan Administration. Before he was governor of CA, California had free college education for its citizens. reagan ended that, then brought his dislike for the young and the poor to Washington where he effectively gutted the Middle Class. He ended federal support for tuition because he didn't want to sponsor the intellectual curiosity of "brats who protest my policies." He was a very nice guy.

In 1990 the boomers (my generation) who were in their 30s had 21% of the wealth in America. Today Millennials, in their 30s, hold 4% of the wealth in America. Does that mean anything to you rightwingers? No, you will say it's the Democrats' fault. Be honest at least with yourselves. it was the republicans taking everything from the average people and giving it to the rich --- which of course was giving it to themselves at the expense of all those nasty blue collar types.

"Right to Work" laws passed by republicans around the country eliminated unions. They were really "Right to Work Cheaper" laws. In the 1940s, 80% of the workers who applied for a union were allowed to have one. Today, union busting is a billion dollar industry. Huge corporations don't want workers asking for livable wages. Better to pay for thugs to make sure those workers stay in line.

And you republicans are cheering them on, as the middle class goes away and is replaced by the perennially poor. Millennials can't afford to own homes. They can't build wealth. They are drowning in student debt.
And right wingers on this very site decry how selfish and self-serving they are. Kids how have nothing to look forward to economically because of republicans. And they can look forward to a decaying, brutalizing world where weather disasters will be totally commonplace.

But of course, republicans don't believe in science. Science tells us we may have to spend money facing a climate crisis that republicans refuse to acknowledge. And republicans want to spend less, less, less. More breaks to billionaires.

It really comes down to this: What's it going to take for republicans to start caring about their grandchildren?

You probably already know this, but 97% of climate scientists agree that the globe is warming. And it's warming much faster than their computer models predict. So, you republicans refuse to accept the science, even when it is obvious that global warming is in full blossom right now. Glaciers melting, wildfires across Europe and North America. Crazy storms. Sea levels rising.

And none of it makes an impression on the always right republicans. Okay for you, but what about your grandchildren? Are you going to continue to close your eyes with your fingers in your ears screaming "NAA, NAA, NAA"?

Why?

Sounds like a far-left radical nut job to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What are you talking about? Wages went up big time during Trump's presidency and every conservative on this board applauded it.

And Conservatives on this board rightfully denounce student loan forgiveness for college grads who work at starbucks because it is wrong! Blue collar kids who went to work after high school and learned a trade or some other skill and make more money than college educated liberal arts majors with no skill or talent should not be punished. They made good life decisions. That is what conservatives endorse.

Regarding cost of living problems...... Democrats own that one. Everything Democrats endorse increases the cost of living, then they ask someone else to pay for it. By the way, my 14 year old daughter is making 50% higher than minimum wage working at McDonalds. That is mostly because grown ass adults with a worthless degree are unwilling to work after getting free Covid money the last few years. A 14 year old has a better work ethic.
Student loan forgiveness hurts no one.

Your Starbucks example is ridiculous and wrong. You republicans are big on people making their own choices. If blue collar kids decided not to go to college that's on them, and how is student forgiveness for college grads punishing blue collar kids? That makes no sense, but this where you guys make some twisted argument that somehow down the road that it would hurt them right.

You ever think college grads working at jobs like Starbucks to start off do so because they can't get a job in their field? For the longest time kids were told go to college and you get a good job. It was big lie for many folks. They are the kids that are punished, the ones that put in the extra 4 years with over $100K in student loan debt with no job opportunity in their field.

You republicans will come rushing to the defense anytime someone says how wrong it is when the super rich would get tax breaks, raises, extra perks, you're ok with that, but if the Govt forgives $10K in OVER $100K student loan debt you say it's wrong...lol?? F'ck outta here.

Actually, forgiving student debt does hurt people. Not only does it lead to more inflation, but it also adds more to the national debt.

This country’s national debt will impact young people’s lives more than forgiving student debt.

It’s as if you don’t realize that half of the people in this country pay no income tax.

Maybe you don’t. They may pay no federal income tax, which is progressive, but they pay plenty of other taxes, i.e, gas taxes, excise taxes, sales taxes, state income tax, property tax, wage taxes, etc., all of which are flat or regressive.
That’s why right wing ”foundations” conflate federal income tax with other taxes, to fool naive people.

This is why we have a very serious problem in this country. Half of the people think money is free. There is no cost to spending (in this case on a college degree). No one actually pays.

This is a sign of someone living in dreamland. Terribly ignorant. A teacher?

We are doomed.

Think about it. This guy's vote counts just as much as anybody else's vote.

i love it when someone says "free education". What's scary is that they really believe it. I guess they think that just out of the blue the enrgy companies provide free power, the professors and administrators work for free etc. Someone is paying for this...the california taxpayer. And, as hard as this is to believe there are more taxpayers than there are people in college. So the plumber, electrician, janitor, school teacher are all paying for the "free education" for people who will go on to earn more $$ than they will.

But, it's free!!!

Gorki is a moron anything this idiot says should be mocked, even if the dummy happens to be right in that instance. That a person can believe such idiocy is shocking but unfortunately it's more accepted these days than it should be.

Why should folks who didn't go to college pay for those that went to Harvard?
see, that's the problem. People like Gorki only see the one side of the picture...some kid who went to college now has a $100k debt and can't get a job in his field (there are just about 11 million open jobs in this country). So why don't the rest of us pick up a portion of his debt so he can live a better life. Who does it hurt?
What he doesn't see is that the kids who didn't go to college, the single mom who makes enough to pay federal taxes, the taxi drivers, store clerks et al, they get to pay the bill for the kid who went to college.
The money comes from somewhere.....and there are opportunity costs for spending the money on debt reduction vs child care, child tax credits etc. Who would the $500 billion help more the harvard or penn state grads making six figure incomes or the moms needing child care? I believe that the largest portion of debt is owed by graduate school borrowers......

The infrastructure bill last year.
You mean the green weenie bill that is making fat cats in wind and solar very wealthy? You mean the bill that is going cause energy prices to double again? You mean the bill that is full of pork to help get key scumbags re-elected? You mean the bill that is heavily debt financed that will once again spike inflation? The bill that will hurt the poor and working poor the most?

That bill?

It's the Marxists in the Democrat party that hates the middle class. Its hard to start a revolution when there is a thriving strong middle class that is patriotic, believes in god, and stands for freedom, (especially economic freedom) .

The unions are alive and well. The FTA, NEA, AFSCME, are all alive and well and in control of the Democrat party and are responsible for the current push for things like BLM, CRT, and trans education/grooming programs in public schools.
