not sure if any on "this" board would know? What's the true difference between a Rivals four star rated 5.8 and a three star rated 5.7. Is that a minimal difference or is it a REAL jump to get a 4th star? I'm curious because we had a ton of 5.7 guys last year :)

Yes, I know POZ was a 3 star.

It's all subjective, of course. Rivals seems to base a lot of their evaluations upon how players perform at camps.

Each Rivals Rating move up the scale adds 15 team points to a schools' totals.

So in effect, they are weighing the move from say a 5.5 to a 5.6 the same as a move from 5.9 to 6.0.

(Rivals Rating = Points)

6.1 = 150 points
6.0 = 135 points
5.9 = 120 points
5.8 = 105 points
5.7 = 90 points
5.6 = 75 points
5.5 = 60 points
5.4 = 45 points
5.3 = 30 points
5.2 = 15 points

There is probably a significant gain in talent at the very highest levels. They compensate for that by also adding in a scale that ranks the Top 250 players. Those near the top get a considerable point boost. Those in the Top 100 get a sizable boost. Those near 250 get low single digit boosts. Those below 250 do not get any extra bonus points.
