In a very exciting game, Roman out lasts NG take repeat as Philly PCL champs. The game atmosphere was insane and a full and total sell out. One of the louder games. Roman wins 72-65.
Tonight's games was about the PSU commits, specifically Lamar Stevens, who in my opinion, was the best player on the court tonight. Lamar Finished with 22&13 on various ways of scoring. Lamar battled all night. I was so impressed with how he just kept getting after it and his motor never lacked. Early in Lamar's career he lacked motor and clearly that isn't an issuie anymore. One area I was impressed with Lamar was offensivley, he scored in various ways. He is not one dimensional anymore. He find was to score inside and out.
Tony Carr played well tonight and controlled the game. One aspect I was completely impressed with was how he controlled pace. Carr has a very rare feel that most high school PG's don't have and hat is change of pace, fast and slow. He defended very well tonight. In these two commits you are getting Warriors. Tony Carr has had one of the more historic PCL careers. Carr will bring the pace and feel to a team next year that can really use it. The bigger the game the better Carr becomes. He just wins, battles, and gets it done. I thought he out played Quade, who was erratic tonight with his shot selection. Believe Carr ended with 18-20 (unofficially)
Bostick did what he always does. It is never pretty and tonight was no exception, but he always gets the job done. Bostick could find his way on the court in time at PSU as a defender/physical type of guard. You need guys like that in your program.
All three of the commits played well, but he night belonged to Lamar Stevens. In my opinion, he was the player of he game without a doubt. Lamar has showed me this season and more tonight that an undersied four man is in his future. He found so many ways to keep NG off balance tonight. Roman coaching staff had a great game plan.
It was a great night for Philly Hoops and PSU Hoops. Roman and NG will both participate in the PA state playoffs begining in the next week. If all goes well you all will both see Roman and NG in three weeks at the BJC.
I plan to have more in game specifics tomorrow for all of you!
