Would it be sour grapes to say I really didn't want this kid anyhow and saw a very big flop potential?
the sour grapes it is, although I have been saying it since he mysteriously signed. The whole thing just didn't feel right.
Let's just say I won't be losing any sleep over this one.
Exactly the kind of recruit that has flopped here. Good. Replace this kid with a Midwestern boy who can actually block, you know, like the Illinois kids who blew us off the line all day.
I am scared that I actually agree and actually said this when he committed. Find some NIL Money and go get some portal road graders that can block. Start with the C from UVA.
Nope, ST Frances is similar to Bishop Sycamore in that there really are no rules for them, they just have a multi millionaire who funds them so that they check all the boxes to be able to play. Kids from there are usually POS because they have been coddled for years.
Who would be called "made it" alumni from there? Any big time recruits or NFL Players?

No but it might be sour grapes if someone said that perhaps he didn't meet academic or development goals that were agreed upon when he signed with PSU......or that Franklin pulled his offer when he decided to go California Dreamin.....
Getting beat by PSU 4 out 5 years is punishment enough anyway.Don't see this as a big loss, similar to other pudgy OL's who never made it. Save the spot for a portal OL. Not sure if i have the name correct but saw where Nate Bruce (?) will be prepping at Lackawana with chance to return in the future, better use of assets.
Anyone read that South Carolina was tipped off that Barnham would decommit 10 minutes after he committed to them? Roye stayed committed so he could try and make a big splash with Barnham on signing day of a Big Flip!!! What a clown and I hope everyone runs it up on Maryland now even more than they originally do.
this is a good way to ensure every team on your schedule wants to crush you. If the rest of the B1G coaches pick up on how slimy Locksley is, nobody will be looking past his team of toolbags. I hope CJF has this game circled for next year already.
That would not surprise me since all of the CBs were on Maryland and then all of a sudden, Barnham commits to South Carolina. It’s clear now that Barnham silently committed to Maryland, and then verbally committed to South Carolina. I’m sure some of the recruiting analysts told South Carolina that they heard he committed to Maryland shortly before.
The biggest question I have is if the Penn State coaching staff was blindsided by Roye’s decommitment and signing with Maryland. It would not surprise me at all that Roye never communicated with Penn State and simply signed with Maryland.
Penn State Big Board had 23 slots so likely they knew.
As a rule, I won't bust on recruits/commits/current players. I think that does a disservice to them and the perception of the program. In the case of RoyeBoy, I will make an exception. I had him pegged as the least likely member of the class to make a contribution based on what little I had seen of him on video highlights and that game played in September. Other than his size, nothing really stood out. I'll say as a disclaimer that based on video highlights, I thought Des Holmes was going to be a difference maker. So what does my untutored eye know? That being said, it will be interesting to see if he ever makes a difference for MD. I'll believe if and when I see it. Until then, not much of a loss.
