Russian state media outlet RT mocked President Donald Trump’s warning on Tuesday that he was stopping “really bad” things from happening to Russia.

Trump, in recent days, has ratcheted up his attacks on Russia’s Vladimir Putin, calling him “Absolutely CRAZY” on Sunday.

On Tuesday, Trump reacted to news of more Russian attacks on Ukraine by writing, “What Vladimir Putin doesn’t realize is that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD. He’s playing with fire!

RT, which regularly praised Trump in the past, covered the Truth Social post on Tuesday. “President Trump warns Moscow, claiming Russia avoided ‘REALLY BAD’ consequences only thanks to him,” wrote RT in a post on X, adding:

‘Putin doesn’t realize… he’s playing with fire!’ — Trump’s message leaves little room for misinterpretation
Until he posts the opposite tomorrow morning
The Kremlin replied to Trump calling Putin crazy over the weekend with a statement highlighting the “emotional overload” of the war. “We are really grateful to the Americans and to President Trump personally for their assistance in organizing and launching this negotiation process,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said of Trump’s post, adding, “This is a very crucial moment, which is associated, of course, with the emotional overload of everyone absolutely and with emotional reactions.”

Trump has been widely praised by Russian propaganda in the past, with a Russian TV host recently saying he deserves a “medal” for his weeping global tariffs. “The price of goods will certainly go up in the United States. The old political and economic global system is practically dead,” a commentator said in early April on the Russian program The Evening With Vladimir Solovyov.

Host Vladimir Solovyov replied, “Trump destroyed the trust” — and called for a statue to be built in his honor. A monument should be erected to him. This was a major blow to the system of capitalism… I think he deserves at least a Sutulov medal.”
