Never in my life did I think I would ask Penn State fans for help. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Our program needs help. We need your help. When RU joined the Big Ten, it was a very exciting time for all RU fans. As a grad from ‘11, I enjoyed my fair share of electric games at RU stadium. Unfortunately, the hiring of Kyle Flood coupled with terrible Athletics Directors and an even worse hire in Chris Ash, have contributed to RU being the joke of the Big Ten Conference. I live in Big Ten country. I work with fans from every Big Ten school. I and other RU fans just want something we can be proud of during football season. Our current AD terminated contract talks with the one guy who would have delivered instant credibility to RU. Greg Schiano would have been good for RU. He would have been good for the Big Ten conference. Please support us in our efforts to oust our current AD. Please help us if you want what is best for the B1G. Let’s face it.. RU will never be PSU no matter how hard we try... but we should be able to put a respectable, competitive team on the field. We need your help. Please sign the petition below! Thank you!!!!

I thought you were going to ask for some of our players.

Besides, Nunzio's got this.

Why would anyone else in the B1G want Rutgers to do something to improve itself?

What’s good for the Big Ten is good for the members of the Big Ten! Why would anyone want another school in their conference to lose games against Boston College, Buffalo, etc.? Yes, we suck right now. No, we will never have the history and tradition of PSU. But even when PSU plays someone out of conference, I root for PSU. It’s good for the Big Ten.

What’s best for the Big 10 doesn’t include Rutgers. I would support your departure.

We don’t deserve to be in the conference is Pat Hobbs is our AD. That’s something we are trying to impact. Please show your support of the Big Ten and RU by signing the petition! :]

Good grief! SMH

I am going to refrain from clicking on the link, partly because I am not interested in helping Rutgres (as Rutgres and others did not help us when we needed it, and then piled on), but also because any link from a stranger could contain a virus or some hidden malware, etc. Maybe I am being paranoid, but that doesn't mean you're not out to screw with us....!

Others, open at your own risk if you'd like. I'd rather see the post and responses containing it be deleted.

Honestly, I would be willing to help almost anyone but Rutgres and their fans. The vile shit you spewed at us, because an ex football coach of ours turned out to be a scumbag will never be forgiven or forgotten by this Penn State fan. NEVER. Eventually this conference will get tired of having a non-competitive, low rent bunch of losers associated with it and vote to remove you from the league. On that day I will sign any petition in favor of that. I would tell you to go to hell, but you’ve already been to Piscataway.

rutgres nation? Have rutgres grads outside of New Jersey heard of rutgres?

Isn't it more like rutgres county? Maybe rutgres region if we consider the New York television market that so strongly supports rutgres.

Please take this opportunity to recognize Penn State's good fortune in having Sandy Barbour.

and let's keep in mind that this plea for help, written in a rather naive and feigned innocence manner, is from a 30 year old, if indeed he did graduate from Rutgres in 2011 at age 22.

Just sayin'.

You have made a reasonable request in a respectful manner and I will answer with respect.
I will not help Rutgers in any way. Not now. Not ever. Your fans were the absolute worst when it came to the Sandusky Scandal. I will never forget that and will rejoice if you are ever thrown out of the Conference.

The obvious comparison is that Rutgres nation to the B1G is very much like Monaco is to the rest of the world. Name change coming soon... rather than the "State University of NJ", Rutgres will be the "NJ Principality of the B1G". Just like Monaco, only without the beauty and wealth and athletics prowess.

Only one thing I would change about your post, after....
"The vile shit you spewed at us",
you need to add "and continue to spew."

Rutgers fans hate Penn State and really for no good reason that I'm aware of. To this day they still chant F#ck Penn State at all their sporting events even when they are playing someone else. Now they come here asking for help and support? WTF?

I met a client for first time a couple of years ago. She tells me she graduated from Rutgers. I said that I graduated from Penn State. Her first words were “We hate Penn State”
You’re looking to the wrong fan base for help. Perhaps you should try OSU it Michigan
For the record, I live in N.J. for many years. I never, ever want to see Rutgers succeed in anything.

Actually, if they were thrown out of the conference I'd be sort of jealous.

Grew up in Jersey. 20+ years. Never heard or took part in a conversation about Rutgers football other than with a couple of friends that played there. Rutgers football in a non-factor.

It seems to me there were different agendas at Rutgers when they joined the Big Ten. One agenda was using conference membership as a means to improve the overall success of athletics by taking advantage the substantial revenue increase. Over time RU athletics would move closer to becoming financially self-sustaining. There's nothing wrong with any of that.

OTOH, another group had the agenda of turning RU conference membership into a money making scheme. Go cheap on everything and use the athletics surplus to cover other expenses. Wins don't matter to these folks.

The Rutgers admin needs to have a serious discussion about how committed they are to success on the field. If they decide they only want the money, they have been insulting the Rutgers fans who have ponied up cash for donations, tickets, etc. If that's the case they should be honest with Rutgers supporters and join the Patriot League.

Let me see if I have this right. You want me to sign a petition whereby you idiots want to pay a career 500 unemployed ego manic coach 32 million dollars for 8 years with at least 25 million guaranteed. In addition hefty raise provisions not related to performance are included. Plus he will be subject to no institutional review on any program related issues, and since you’re broke you are throwing in another 100 million or so on facility upgrades. Ok, where do I sign.

Their first job should be to clean up their board then apologize for what they've done and said regarding Penn State. Furthermore, I wouldn't believe anything regarding GS. There's about 17 sides to this story right now. I sure as hell wouldn't trust the NJ media.

This is a fun thread. It's Rutgers "hate week" right? Isn't Rutgers our Big Ten (un)Rival? They are scheduled last in that (un)Rival spot. Maybe last week I would have donated. NOT. THIS. WEEK. #WeAre #BeatRutgres

All you have to do is hire Narduzzi as your next coach. I'm sure he would be glad to leave the cesspool in Pittsburgh for the Big 10. I hear he is a great recruiter and a fine fellow.

You heard that?? Dude, go get your lemon ears checked.

My advice would be to just hang tight. Things look hopeless right now but they're really not hopeless. Rutgers at some point will begin to get a full share of B1G revenues and that will allow them to spend more money on facilities and coaches salaries. If Schiano brought Rutgers back from the dead before, it means SOMEONE can do it again.

Rutgers has made some bad coaching hires. It's risky to hire assistants who have not been head coaches (such as Ash and Durkin at Md.) It is much safer to hire people who have been successful head coaches at a lower level of competition.

Don't blame your AD for not being able to come to terms with Schiano. I never liked the idea of Schiano returning anyway -- it was bound to be a disappointing experience because you can't actually repeat something as complicated as rebuilding a football program.

For both Rutgers and Maryland success has to be measured REALISTICALLY. It may not be possible for Rutgers and Maryland to EVER beat Ohio State, Michigan, PSU. So fill the non-con schedule with winnable games and concentrate on trying to be competitive with Indiana and Purdue and Maryland and the western division teams.

Talking about Rose Bowls is just foolish. Try to win 3 games, then try to win 5, then try to get to .500 and a bowl game. That is a realistic path to success. Accept that the stadium is going to be empty for a while.

Bottom line is, Rutgers can still give football scholarships and there is TONS of talent available in their recruiting area. Even if they never beat Penn State for a recruit, there is STILL plenty of talent to build a pretty good football team -- look to Temple for how to do it.

I think what tripped up Rutgers was unrealistic expectations -- and a couple of bad hires. Eventually they will make another good hire and get back on track.

The Dooz would perform well at Rutgers.

Way better than Floor or Ash

Good Lord you really are an optimist! Those dolts have been playing football for150 years of which somewhere between 5 and 10 years could be considered really successful. Get back to that.
