I knew Scott growing up through wrestling and he and family are awesome people. The lawsuit he filed claims Franklin pressure him to clear players. After seeing the pain Clifford was obviously in, who the hell cleared him? I lost lotsa respect for Franklin Saturday and it has nothing to do with play calling or losing.

He flipped a coin.

So if Franklin is a monster in this regard, why did Sean not stick it out against Iowa? Seems to be some belief out there that SC wanted to try.

I’m sure that there are many that could say the same thing about Franklin. I’m also sure that none of them, you, or I know anything about the actual working relationship between the two. Same goes for Clifford’s medical clearance.

Wrong board?
It's so boring around here lately, why the hell not discuss amongst friends. Everyone else is discussing their recruits and wrestle offs, and all we have is some regurgitated polls, a national high school tournament, and Iowa. Might as well bring on the football!

Nov 13 can't get here soon enough.

Dr. Scott Lynch was a three time AA and National Champion wrestler for PSU. Maybe not the wrong board. Scott is an honorable person and straight shooter. I suppose the facts will come out in court, but If I was picking sides…I would believe Scott! More wrestling related…you did not want to chose top if were wrestling Scott. He put more people on the backs from on bottom than any other wrestler I have even seen including Ben Peterson.

Fine then. I don't believe Scott when players, players parents have all come out in support of James. I am more mad that Franklin didn't have any possible back up ready enough to have to bring out a not 100% Clifford. It was a real eye opener that he doesn't have all his players ready to play. If he wants to compete against the Bama OSU and Georgias, he needs to plug and play every year. I left out Clemson since they're having very similar struggles to us.

I thought I read the lawsuit was dismissed last year because he ran out of time. New lawsuit?

Even though his most prominent targets are no longer in his sights, Dr. Scott Lynch isn’t giving up his legal battle over what he contends was his unethical ouster as the doctor for Penn State’s football team.

More than a year after a Dauphin County judge dismissed Penn State and coach James Franklin from a lawsuit Lynch filed over his removal, Lynch is continuing to seek damages from the remaining defendants in the case, Penn State Health and Dr. Kevin Black, the system’s chairman of orthopedics and rehabilitation.

As I skimmed through the posts, not really paying attention, I saw the two bolded words in a peripheral-vision kind of way and got interested in a hurry. But alas, my eyes tricked me. 🥲

But the rest of your post got me to thinking about a parallel . . . Scott Moore was not a guy you should have ever felt comfortable taking down toward his back — that seemed to be his wheehouse. Loved watching that guy.

Franklin hasn’t had a single good quarterback since he was at Vanderbilt. Expecting him to have two just isn’t happening.

Scott may be a good guy, but I'm disappointed in his attorney. I went to school with Steve, who was a PSU gymnast. It would be nice if he would have set up a boutique firm specializing in suing any other school besides his alma mater. He's a PSU ambulance chaser. He'd be better served working for people that stepped on a banana peel at the supermarket.
Flo Karen is 10 times higher on the food chain.

? Define “good.” By virtually all of the numbers, McSorely is the best QB in school history, and Clifford isn’t very far behind. Granted, PSU is not QBU, but I never really understand this take when I read it.

McSorely was a very good college QB and threw for the most yards in PSU history. He's not the best QB in school history, unless school history started in 1995.

But, yeah, "Franklin has had no good QBs" is a hot take, nothing more.

Also most in PSU history: touchdowns, rushing yards, completions; and 3rd in completion% and QBR. Admitedly, zero national titles, but this is a team sport.

Interesting that you would mention Ben Peterson in this regard, as Scott usually did it with the Peterson roll (but then that was probably your intent!). If it was named after Ben, I didn't know that. I thought the name pre-dated Ben's career.

So Evan Royster is obviously the best RB at PSU.

Trace McSorley had almost 100 completion than Kerry Collins had attempts. Their yards per attempt are very close.

Just going by stats Kerry Collins, Todd Blackledge and Chuck Fusina arguably the best QB's at Penn State are all behind Zack Mills who was the QB during the worst period of PSU football.

I do think McSorley (I would put him 4 in my lifetime) is underrated by many fans but the way the game changed you can't just look at raw stats.

Chris Godwin made Trace McSorley a star.

Go back and read my post above--I said "by the numbers." McSorely has the best numbers, I don't think that can be debated. I'd pick Collins (especially if he gets his O-Line to protect him) over anyone if we had to win a game, but that's not what I said.

Remember the movie "Miracle" where Rob McClanahan is hurt against Sweden?

Herb Brooks: "Can he make it worse if he plays?"
Doc: "No, but it will hurt alot and be difficult to play"

I suspect Clifford was at that place on Saturday and the staff thought he gave PSU the best chance to win. Obviously it did not work out, suppossedly he is 100% for Ohio St, not that it will probably matter in terms of winning/losing.

Is that the same year wrestling started? 🤣😂
