There is a movement from at least 2 Senators for a Criminal Investigation of Justice Thomas concerning at least 2 of the 'gifts' he received from 'friends'. The charges revolve around the tax implications of 'debt forgiveness' on items (big motor home, value >$250,000). The 'friend' sold a large motor home to Thomas, payments on the loan (interest only) were made for a few months - no principal was ever paid. Then the 'loan' was forgiven by the 'friend'.
As any accountant/layer can tell you the forgiveness of a debt is a 'taxable event' where the borrower must treat the forgiveness as income. Justice Thomas never reported the transaction for tax purposes or Federal Disclosure requirements.
The DOJ has received an investigation request to look into this and other 'unreported' items where Thomas has been the recipient of 'favors' that could well be gifts and debt forgibeness that have not been treated correctly by the Justice. Chief Justice Roberts has been aware of these transactions for months )or years) and has turned a blind eye to the implications of 'gifts'/bribes received by both Thomas and Alito. Roberts has not done his job in regard tp these and other questionable actions of the Justices.
