More than you ever cared to know about the Mountaineers offensive attack.

Usually really enjoy your posts but I OD’d on snark about a third of the way in.

I fear people are over looking our friends from the Mountain State. This may be just a warmup for us….a showcase against long forgotten rival to sleepwalk through.

But for WVU ….team and fans…..this an exciting opportunity to show an ex girlfriend that she blew it. Or your old boss that you now run the company…..ok that one is a stretch. But WVU is taking this very seriously. And we are not ready it could be interesting.

Opening games are always scary. A couple turnovers, a blown coverage and ***boom****💥 you got yourself a football game.

I think like last year, many of the PSU fans are expecting a cakewalk opener. I would hope the team (PSU) has not fallen for that. PSU is a team with much to prove and they will get WVU's best on Saturday. Alot depends (offensively) on as CJF said, Allar's ability to manage the game and allow the skill players to carry the load so he can ease in as the season progresses. PSU needs Allar to avoid critical errors - INT/fumble - so WVU won't gain momentum and confidence.
Defensively, PSU needs to slam the door on WVUs running game and force them to pass more than they want to allowing our DEs to create pressure on their QB.

And why exactly do you think Penn State would be overlooking West Virginia in the season opener in a stripe out game at night? Personally I don’t see it.

‘Cause everybody is predicting a blowout?🤷🏿‍♂️

If WVU was in the Big 10 East, where would you predict they finish?

Above Rutgers, very likely.
Below Maryland, I can see.
Sandwiched between those 2 with Sparty and Indiana in the lower tier sounds right.

How do you think those games will go?

Hard to predict as they had so much turnover of personal. And I agree with your suppositions about where they would fall over a season.

But this isn’t a season. It is an opener…. first game. It is also a renewal of an old rivalry. One that WVU is taking very seriously. Beating us would make their season.

Redefine who they are.

Remove a lot of stink from last seasons.

They are gonna play their asses off. We better be ready.

Sparty was a game until well into 4 last year.
