CFP won't flip dates of semis despite SEC request

The College Football Playoff will not flip the dates and times of the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic and the Capital One Orange Bowl after SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said Thursday that he had made a request to change them.

So...this just seems absurd given travel and logistics that they'd even request it before UGa played. Things happen...adapt. if Penn State's game was pushed to today I'd still be fine playing as scheduled. This goes beyond football.

Sankey had a side bet that one or more SEC teams would be playing beyond Jan. 10? Probably expected Georgia to win and was just trying to mitigate any advantage Penn State would have, but we were going to have an extra two days over our opponent no matter what since we played a day earlier than all the other games.

I think it's probably kind of good for Kirby Smart that Georgia is out of it now since his father died this morning and he'd have to deal with that while getting ready for a national semi-final game.
