Should the U.S. get involved with foreign affairs if innocent people are being murdered?

Hussein used chemical weapons on the Kurds.
Syrian government forces have killed civilians in organized attacks on towns and villages.
ISIS beheads Christians and other non believers.
ISIS captures young girls, kills their families, them sells the girls as sex slaves.

I think we would all agree that this is horrible. The question is what should the USA do about it.
