Come on. View this objectively. Was Hack as good as touted? No. Anyone saying otherwise is simply a fool. But if we are being fair, he is a very different QB than Trace, and he also did it behind what might have been two years of the worse offensive lines I've ever seen. It's not wrong to think that he would have had more success behind a line that bought him more time. It's also not wrong to blame his lack of ability to extend plays for our poor performance.
Trace's passes are not as crisp as Hacks, but he can buy time for plays to develop, where as Hack stood in the pocket, hoping against hope that his line would hold up. Trace puts the ball up often and his stats don't show the fact that most balls are contested. We have receivers that can win those plays. Trace is taking advantage of that where Hack did not.
Is Trace a better QB than Hack? We don't know. What we DO know is that he is the QB we need, NOW. Hack was also the QB we needed to stand by us when we needed him the most. No one should lose sight of either fact.
