According to Franklin's PC today, Bowen will not play this week against Maryland due to his suspension for violation of team rules.

Anybody have any insider info?

Edit: I obviously meant Nebraska (see explanation below). I left the OP as is, so you can all see that I'm an idiot...which you probably knew already, so...

Will he play this week against Nebraska, though? :)

We don't play MD this week. We play Nebraska.

Ha...sorry, good catch. I was organizing my plans to go to the Maryland game and that was on my mind, so I mis-typed.

Yes, he is suspended for this week's final home game against Nebraska.

...since no one on our team will be playing Maryland this week are they all in the doghouse? ... :(

I knew the details of the Rose Bowl event but not this one yet. I wonder if he is done either for the year or for good. Franklin doesn't have much patience for this stuff.

I was told the details but can't confirm. I agree JF doesn't have much patience for this type of crap and I think if he is not gone he has 2 big strikes against him and if he even spits in the wrong direction he will be gone.

Can you say if it was the same issue as the Rose Bowl?

It’s immensely helpful that folks are talking around the issue. Please keep doing that.

Thanks.

I'm with you Bob, lets go home....fudge'em
It feels so wrong cos it feels so right
But its all right its OK with me
I'll do my steps all by myself
I don't need nobody to play with me
But if you just give me a chance
I can put you in a trance the way I dance
But don't nobody wanna play with me so I'm
Taking my ball and going home home

I'm that guy man
Shove a diamond up my hind end

I would much rather see Brandon Smith (who by all indications seems to be a great kid) play than someone who apparently doesn't care enough about himself or his teammates to stop doing foolish things - especially since he (Bowen) has already been punished for it before (and I don't know or care what the issue was - as long as CJF says it's a violation of team rules, I'll respect his decision). Good luck Brandon!

Who else is suspended right now for second game in a row?

Not all players are randomly drug tested by NCAA officials at once. From my experience, was approx. 1-2 from each athletic team that was randomly tested at a given time.

Do you have to submit to more frequent testing by the NCAA if you already have one positive in your history?

Can't be. The Liar says they are the only school that suspends players for failing a drug test. All schools except Pitt over look this sort of thing.

Nah.....but they do suspend players if they stand up while the bus is moving while driving them from campus to their rent-a-stadium.
