SIAP - Johnni Dijulius certainly comfortable with heights.

Getting out from bottom ... not so comfortable with that.

Frightening stuff.

The death toll of extreme athletes is astronomical. One day you're hucking off a cliff while ski-base jumping like Shane McConkey; the next day you're a bloody pile at the bottom of a scree slope after something goes wrong.

Some people actually need that rush to function but it's very unfair to their loved ones. I hate hearing of some 30 year old climber/skier/base jumper too selfish to scale it back and he leaves his kid fatherless after he effs up.

I can't believe the owner of the cell tower gave them permission to do that.
How bout it. I can guarantee they didn't get permission to climb the tower and goof around. The last time the company I work for allowed one of us to climb a tower was the day we had a veteran guy fall to his death from one of our towers. We sub it out to guys that do it for a living.

Small edit for CP:

Free soloing is no ropes, no harnesses, no aid

Free climbing allows for protection, but you can't use the protection to aid your climbing progress - just to prevent falls.

You want to see crazy - check out Alex Honnold free soloing some insane big walls in Yosemite and other places.

I would assume that at the minimum, DiJ could get hit with a trespassing charge.

JDJ been doing this kind of stuff for years I can't even count on my hands how many times I've seen videos of him sky diving

I don't know how free climbers can even walk, cause they must have problems getting those hugh balls into their pants.
If you're into watching people climb like that, check out this video. If you don't like heights... it might make you squirm in your seat a little.

Heard an interview on the Slate sports podcast recently with the wife (Steph Davis I think) of a base-jumper who died doing it, and she's a base-jumper herself. Much of the interview concerned her anger over an article attributing high death rates to base-jumping because, she said, there aren't enough statistics to conclude anything. It was an extremely frustrating interview to listen to because on one hand she was smart and interesting, and on the other, fanatically obtuse in her denial of reality. At least she doesn't have kids.

I don't think that is a career path I would ever pursue... thanks for sharing

Multiply that by a billion. I give you Alex Honnold free soloing the Nose on El Capitan. Crazy stuff starts a 1:00 and gets crazier

No matter how intelligent some people are, they can still startle you with their stupidity.
