They must be in negotiations with King. He will be an expensive and very important retention .
I thought I read that Coziah Izzard could possible get a 6th year also. Not really sure though.

Rucci was a Freshman in 2021. He RS'd
He played in 22, 23, and 24. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Vanover was the class of 2020 (covid season class) so he should have 1 more year of eligibility unless I am not thinking of the free covid year correctly. The guys left from that class are Elsdon, Fisher and Dawkins.
I believe he has a COVID year if he wants to take it. But may be wrong.

I don't know what would allow him to get another year.
If that's the case, he should be eligible for a Covid Year if he wanted to come back.
I haven't seen him announce anything. We should find out soon though.

NO. that's not how it works. The NCAA didn't grant everyone a 5th year.
The NCAA removed 2020 from any calculations.
Remove 2020 and every players still has 4 years of eligibility.
So, if 2020 was Freshman year, RS or not, simply don't count it.
Athlete plays 21-24, that's their 4 years.
If an Athlete RS'd in 21, then they could play 22-25.
If an athlete got a medical redshirt, they could have another year.

Yes. To make it even easier, just pretend 2020 never happened. Every other eligibility rule you are familiar with is the same ( 4 years, RS, medical, etc)
If they burned their redshirt in 21 then they are ineligible. A guy like Izzard played and burned the RS in 2021. A guy like Dawkins did not. Not including any medical RS.
More great news. Strong DE room for 2025. I expect him to have a great final season. Remember early in this season he was still recovering/shaking rust off from previous seasons injury.
