Hand-written letter from UM coach Jim Harbaugh's son Jay to Philly TE Naseir Upshur's GIRLFRIEND Savannah.

"SAVANNAH! YOU WILL NOT TALK YOUR WAY INTO SUCCESS. EVER."

Story

How about scam artist ? Appealing to the girl friend of a recruit. Pop says you are special ? The article refers to this as an unconventional method. Can't wait to see other unconventional methods they may use.

How about the end of the letter. The EGO < The MISSION...........Please. Is that the Harbaugh/UM new mantra ? LOL

Smooth? Surely you jest. Psycho? Maybe.

I wouldn't call the approach smooth, in spite of the "personal (overly) touch." Is he a psycho? Don't know, but for most recruits this would come off as a little too intense, borderline bizarre and just a bit of an intrusion into their personal lives. Seems like poor judgement at best.

That is, at best, strange --- at worst, creepy

Greater moral of the story: If you're coaching at a B1G school, don't hire your 20-something year-old son Jay to be an assistant coach, it won't end well.

I'm still trying to figure out why they only gave him felt tip pens?

A good ball-point wasn't in the budget?

Looks like it was written by an 8 yo.

I know you think you are clever, but we just see you as never missing an opportunity to troll about Joe.

Don't even try to say that wasn't your intention.

Aw, poor wittle Dr. 9fold

I guess you're angry because you know[/I] there is an element of truth in what I'm saying.

Joe should have never hired Jay, period. And from my perch of U-M being my 2nd favorite B1G football team, I think Jim should have never hired HIS son Jay.

you know you're right, & Frankie shouldnt have hired Shane, Steve

shouldnt have hired, Scott, Bobby shouldnt have hired Terry, Jim shouldnt have hired Todd, Mike shouldnt have hired Kyle, Dennis shouldnt have hired Bryce, Kirl shouldnt have hired Brian, and Lane shouldnt have hired Monte (oops wrong way!!).

But hey all of these guys were qualified, and Jay wasnt (tic). Please give it a break. Jay was just like everyone else Joe hired, except for Vandy. They were either former players for Joe, (as Jay was) or they were guys who were light on a resume. It was just Joe's way.
