waiting to get on to the Maid of the Mist, at Niagara Falls, earlier today. The lines wind around each other. I'm wearing a PSU baseball cap. I suddenly see a guy walking in the other direction who is wearing a Penn State Wrestling t-shirt. I point at his shirt and say, "champions." He points at my hat and says, "nice hat." We smile and continue in our respective directions, dealing with the heat and the crowds.

We Are ...

... Everywhere

I see PSU gear in Manhattan every day. Sometimes I'll hear a WE ARE and suddenly realize they're directed at me because I'm wearing a PSU wrestling hat or shirt..

I live in Frederick county MD, south of Gettysburg. There are plenty of PSU people around here. Our friends never really understood the whole "We Are" thing- now they have a daughter starting there in the fall in the College of EMS and have fallen in love with Happy Valley...

I was on a cruise last week and there were numerous PSU fans on the ship. Plenty of We Are Penn State were heard. Of course I wore my blue and white. Nothing but positive comments.

My daughter just returned from a trip to France with the French club from school. She saw a guy in Paris with a psu hat on. She told him how big of a fan our family is. At which point he just said We are!!!!! She of course responded Penn State. She texted me that day but upon her return she told that same story a number of times. Tom said it best. We are....... everywhere.

Not just Penn Staters.

Last November I wore a PSU shirt at Angkor Wat. A doctor from Pittsburgh who has no affiliation with PSU come over and struck up a conversation with us. Turns out he was on a side trip, main purpose was to check in on some low-cost clinics he and some other doctors set up in poor parts of India. Really nice guy, doing good work.

Coincidentally enough, ran into the same guy the very next day.

was in a wwii war museum a few weeks ago in arnhem, nl(bridge too far). had on a ps hat. guy comes in the room and says, ps, where are you from? i say i was born in a little town in central pa you probably never heard of, lock haven. guy says i'm from lh, too. talked about the town and some acquaintences, and he says he worked at lhu. asked if he knew my buddy who retired from there a few years ago. he says yes. i was his son's rotc instructor there. my buddy's son is head of security at west point. truly a small world.
