An altered state
‘Scientists’ spend a winter in 2019 doing research. One thing was measuring ice thickness because satellites can’t tell ice from snow so no one knows just how much ice there is. Which I found quite shocking 😱

How can they tell how far the oceans will rise if they don’t even know how much ice there is? Snow had far less water in it than ice. How do they know how quickly it will rise? How do they know how much cold water will be disrupting deep sea currents?

A minute later they said their measurements show much less ice than thought and hinted that was bad as it would all disappear quicker. But wouldn’t that mean the oceans would rise far less? Less melt water impacting deep sea currents?

I am so confused🥴😵‍💫🧐🤨
