So what’s the word on Veilleux?

what’s the word? Johannesburg!

Good player, stuck behind a five star kid that looks to challenge for one of the best QBs in PSU history. Good kid and would be a great pickup for Pitt
If Slovis leaves, I’d rather have someone like him start than, say, Phil Jurkovec. Would rather have a guy start for three years instead of having a revolving door of transfer QBs.

He blew you guys off twice already. He needs you more than you need him.
Plus, there appears to be a concern with him being injury prone. The only upside I see is that he’s familiar with our offensive coordinator’s system since they were together at Boston College.

CV is going to make somebody a very solid QB. He has about 3 quarters of game film to really evaluate. He filled in very well for a snake bit team. Some overhype it (it was Rutgers).

Dropback passer with mobility. Could run the zone read and RPOs. I'm shocked he didn't portal before the season. Unsure of his eventual upside, but he's probably going to be solid as his floor.

I’d rather have veilleux than jurkovec if I was a Pitt guy. Multiple years with upside vs a guy who is going to be a 5th year senior and has never lived up to his recruiting rankings.
His next stop will be his 3rd school, and the 2023 season will be his 6th year. His best season was probably 2020, his 1st year at BC.

Apparently we’re interested in him.
But is he interested in you? Methinks he wants to go to a good program with a quality team!😉

I think he is pretty good but played so little it’s hard to tell. But the same was said about Levis and his transfer turned out pretty good. All depends on if he is looking for a system that fits his skill set, which would be the smart thing to do.

If you can get him to enroll in January, he might be your starter in September.
If they get him enrolled in January I believe he'll be their starter in May, after Spring practice.

If he enrolls surely Slovis would leave, and I believe Duzzy would like a QB as his starter that he can build around for 2-3 years.

But I believe I was more impressed with CV in his limited opportunities on the field than some here.......

Slovis has officially entered the portal, so we shall see what happens. Wouldn’t be the first time that an ex-Nitt potentially helped us recently (Petrishen).

He is from Ottawa. Syracuse was after him a few years ago. I think he would fit into that system a little better. He can run and seemed good as passing out of pocket.

From today's PG:

Whether Jurkovec ends up at Pitt might hinge on whether Kedon Slovis uses his final year of eligibility at Pitt, transfers elsewhere or turns to the NFL

Sovis has a fart's chance in a wind storm of earning a pay check in the NFL. Hope he got his degree from USC and MBA from Pitt...... Slovis has an average arm, less than average accuracy when disturbed at all in the pocket, and is a statue in the pocket. So I could never understand why Duzzy stuck with him this whole season. The rest of Pitt's QB room must be pretty sorry, but in the past I've heard from friends that are Pitt fans that Patti was pretty good.

Regardless, Veilleux would be a great addition to Pitt's roster. Many here, including myself, were hoping he would stay at PSU, but why would he with Allar already ahead of him.

I see Pitt as much better off with Veilleux than with Jurkovec, but the relationship that Jurkovec has with the Pitt OC may sway things in his favor. But a one year QB is not what programs need to build a winner, and Duzzy has not had success recruiting H.S, QB talent and developing it. When he finally got a commitment from a good H.S. QB ND came in and had no problem taking the kid, and any talented QB Duzzy finds will likely get taken before he can sign in future classes. JMO.

Great news. Just couldn’t root for V to do well at Pitt. Now if he goes outside the big I will cheer on his success.
