That is 9 schools competing but only 8 eligible for NCAA Championships as Bellarmine is not eligible for the postseason for four years (transition from DII) which is way too long in my opinion. They will count towards SoCon regular season standings.
"The conference head coaches voted to move forward with a tri-meet schedule on a rotating basis, we all felt this would maximize our conference competition given the shortened competitive season," said VMI head coach Jim Gibson. "Also, allowing for some out of conference dates as well."
