Interesting match. NC State lost 4 of the 1st 5, and was still able to narrowly pull it out.

Keenan - Venz was a good match.

Moisey looked outmatched against Fausz. However, after Fausz cut him late in the match to try and get the TD for the major, Moisey exhibited his 1st real activity by getting in on a low single, which forced a scramble that pretty much used up all of the time. (I think the ref stalemated it with under 5 sec.)

NC State's heavy didn't seem to hear his coach's instructions, as he took down for the 2nd period (a mistake), and then while trailing in the 3rd, didn't cut Jenson when he needed points and showed no signs of being able to turn Jenson.

Don’t sleep on Isiah White @ 165.

After dealing with an early illness, dude has been a hammer.

165 is stacked, but he could make it to Friday Night in Pittsburgh.

White was the last wrestler to come anywhere near beating Cenzo, pushing him to SV in the NCAA quarters.

While looking that last stat up I notice that Cenzo already has more falls (6) than he had all last year (4). Small sample size, but still. And none of those falls are as impressive as handing Josh Shields the first bonus loss of his career.

It’s wordplay. See the initial post. Nebraska Cornhuskers, Children of the Corn, Corn

Does that so offend you?

He hasn’t beaten Parker or Shak so no.
I guess I’m projecting some—but Venz and Parker are pretty dead even. If I were seeding today based on gut alone, I’d put him #2. I know that’s not how it works.

I think a Shak handles either Parker or Venz but that’s my projection and thankfully these matches will happen.

Comin in to weekend Venz was 3 and Shak was 4. Shak didn’t lose, he should move up to 3 and Reenan is 4. Imo Martin, Parker, Shak and Reenan the class of this weight

Yeah, I guess I'd put Shak at #3 ahead of Parker and Venz, but we'll know for sure soon enough. I just think what Reenan did to the field at WTT was darn impressive--his upper body stuff is pretty nasty. He wrestled Bo tough at the Scuffle last year. Of course Shak can find a way to beat him.

Hidley making finals last years was not a surprise to me, however Hidley having 2 or 3 loses this year does surprise me. Im thinking the kid had a growth spurt and is having a hard time with the cut.

he is a great kid and a great talent!

He cut to 154 for U23 and trained all summer for worlds he's tired.Once your quick twitch muscles quit firing it's hard to compete against the best.Wouldnt shock me to see him miss South Beach duals and take the break off

I get that wrestling a different style for an extended period of time, travel and many other things can impact a wrestler and their performance but what is the minimum number of matches and rest a wrestler needs nowadays before a loss can simply been seen as a loss. Hidlay is a great wrestler and maybe he is going through something or there is something the fans don't know about but the wrestlers he has taken losses to aren't anything to sneeze at.

White is hard to figure out. Sometimes he's lights out, other times he seems to lack any sense of urgency. Maybe that's just his style? Did Monday bump up to wrestle him..I thought he wrestles at 157? To me, that makes White's win less than impressive

Also, shocked Venz has lost two in a row.

And how about Chad Red losing to Headlee from UNC?

Add in Hidlays second loss and it makes for some interesting results
