so a co-worker's son graduated from ND.. he was a varsity golfer. Dad and son loved the school, but some interesting info.
*all Notre Dame varsity athletes (including golf) are assigned a note taker to accompany them to class
*the athl dept has a quota for drug -testing all athletes across the entire athletic department.. thus the poor golfer kid was tested 3x where it was known that the football players were tested.. just a bit less if you will...
*golf schollie's are based on peformance.. you can get a full ride for stellar year and drop down to nothing if you underperform
*of all the athletes... the football and men's hoop players were more than a bit below the the normal student or fellow athlete
The jist is that football players are given every chance and total support resources to stay eligible (just like any other football factory).. yet many are still not cutting it... Brian Kelly's Cincy North project is not working out as planned.-sg
