Some on this board are making a simple mistake when replying

I know there have been major changes to the board and there is a learning curve to using it properly. I wanted to point out a common mistake that some people are making that can easily be corrected.

When you are replying to someone's post, especially a post that has pictures embedded (not sig pics, but pics the poster included in that specific post), make sure you reply BELOW all of the pictures and after the word "QUOTE", otherwise your message gets included in the quoted reply and gets somewhat lost. For instance, to reply to my post, hit the reply button and then go below the 2 pictures of JoePa that are embedded and you'll notice the word "QUOTE". This is ending the quote you are responding to. Put your message AFTER the word "quote". Hope this helps.

That explains why I sometimes see replies that appear to be only the quote with nothing added. I thought that I simply didn't understand the new format. OK, so I was right.

So now, how do I see only responses to one post or do I simply need to scroll to where each time that post is quoted?

Exactly. I was noticing the same thing so I started digging a bit deeper and noticed their replies inside the quote. Hopefully this helps out a bit.

If this is directed at me, please explain. I very much welcome people correcting my mistakes.
I think he is suggesting you meant to use the word "simple" instead of "simply" in the title of the thread. That aside, your point is a good one and an error that I have seen a number of times.

Truthfully, the "mistake" was made by whomever at Rivals designed the template and failed to made it "idiotproof" for low-tech people like myself.

Haha! Heck, after reading his reply, I even went back and reread my subject line TWICE and didn't pick up on it! Well played panda...well played. ;) ANd I don't even know how to correct subject line text! HA!

Do not use "Edit". Look at your post among the others and click it. Then, click the Thread Tools which will appear in the area between your subject line and the text. When you do that, "Edit Title" will come up and you can make the correction.

To me the big limitation to this new format is that you can only go one reply deep in a direct conversation. After that you become lost as to whom is talking to whom and about what.

Actually I've always kind of liked the new 'feature.'

For many, that is probably a huge benefit. Many can't stay on topic, and when you call them out on it, they just do whatever possible to avoid answering tough questions.

Thanks for posting this. I had noticed this but hadn't had the chance to post about it. Like you, I have seen many replies contained within the quote box.

Hello there.

To me the big limitation to this new format is that you can only go one reply deep in a direct conversation. After that you become lost as to whom is talking to whom and about what.

As I illustrate here, you can use the multi-quote feature to indicate that you are responding to more than one post. To do this, click on the " + Quote button beneath each post you wish to quote. Then, click the "Insert quotes..." button beneath the reply box to confirm selection of the the posts you wish to quote. These posts will then appear quoted in the reply box.
