Sorry there is no link to post because I don't have an online subscription. A writer in our local paper (The Villages, FL) had a good article regarding Penn State wrestling. Here are a few excerpts.

"Over the last 8 national tournaments PSU has accounted for 20 of the 80 individual championships - a staggering 25 percent clip."

"In the same span, Penn State has scored 962 team points at the NCAA Tournament. The second place teams in that time have all combined to score 856.5 - a shellacking of more than 100 points over the field"

"Under Sanderson's tutelage of peaking at just the right time, Penn State also has won 16 straight matches in the semifinals - a round in which team points are at a premium on the second day of the tournament. "

"Penn State is proving that their program is humming through one of sport's greatest dynasties, and there's no reason to believe there's much in the way of stopping them anytime soon."

It's full steam ahead for 2019 too. No reason to expect anything other than the 4th consecutive national title with Nolf, Nickal, Cenzo, Hall, Lee, Nevills, & Sugar returning...and 2 of our 3 new lightweights (Teasdale, Teske, RBY) filling out 125 & 133 to end the NCAA scoring drought at those weights...and Berge or Verkleeren replacing Zain.

I think it’s more appropriate to say that there were 90 possibilities for a PSU wrestler to finish as Champ or AA in that span...

If either Berge or Verkleeren can come close (results) to replacing Zain, we will be very happy campers.

Zain is irreplaceable. The soon to be 2x Hodge winner arguably PSU's best ever. We will see at least a 10 point loss next year, more than made up by our new 125/133. Its all good

Exactly my point. The rest of the field is toast. Barring injury, the 2019 tournament in Pittsburgh should be another year of PSU having the team title wrapped up after Session 5. The final session should be a Pennsylvania victory lap.

Amazing how you guys come up with all that money to recruit so many. It must be the promise Donor's give to the recruits that they, the Donors, will pay for their college education.

Thought this was HR. You PSU posters have taken over the HR and the HR posters have given up.. Good job.

HR has turned into a group of angry men that never wrestled. It is a shame it was a great forum but the moderators let it turn into a cesspool. The obsession about PSU is ridiculous and over half of the threads end up attacking Penn State.

!49 for next season is very interesting to me.
Berge--blue chipper with great pedigree / and freestyle success
Verk--home grown PA talent that had a solid RS year

Im wondering if we will see a repeat of 165 like we did between the Taylor and Cenzo years..starting both Berge and Verk until we have a starter---.

at this point I have no clue who has the upper hand--Verk looked good in opens this past season---but Berge did compete in but 1 open that I recall.

should be fun to watch!
