Since the 2016 Olympics Yazdani is 52-4 with four Olympic and World titles. All of his losses during that span were to Taylor. Here is the breakdown for Yazdani:

2016-Olympic champion
2017-World champion
2018-Lost to Taylor in the opening round of the World Championships and ended up taking third
2019-World champion (Taylor was injured and did not compete)
2021 Lost to Taylor at the Olympics to take second
2021 World champion-beat Taylor
2022-Lost to Taylor at the World Championships to take second

Were it not for Taylor, Yazdani would most likely be undefeated during that span, winning seven straight Olympic and World titles at the young age of 27. I wonder if Yazdani sees Taylor in his nightmares?

Great for the sport to have these two titans at the same time, but definitely damaging to each other’s legacies.

How would Imar, Sorensen, Dean, Miles, and Steveson be viewed today had not our guys put a turd in their punch bowl? Our program has a special talent in ensuring the generational guys really earn it.

Ok, it did pretty much nothing to hurt Gable's legacy but he deserves it.

It may not have hurt Gable's legacy too much, but certainly protected Cael's.

Wrestlestat would still have Yaz ranked higher.

The NLWC room is unbelievable and getting stronger. Is there a better assembly of talent, in any sport, then what walks into that room everyday? Would enjoy seeing a documentary done or an in depth report because it should be memorialized. These guys are reaching over international boundaries in times that are so uncertain. Taylor vs. the Iranian. Snyder vs. the Russian. Heck Nolf and Snyder visited Russia a yr ago and were treated like gods.

One element that seems to be common is these guys enjoy being with each other and seem to really enjoy what they do. Having fun in Happy Valley!

It is the politicians who start wars and flame the hatred among people. The common people like each other and want to get along. Does anyone here, personally, know a Russian that they dislike as opposed to hearing about them on TV?

Kind of like the PSU-Rutgers football rivalry.

Not sure how much of a rivalry it is right now. It’s almost gotten to Snyder vs Sadulaev territory where you know whose gonna win. It’s a shame Bo stopped wrestling. I think he could of closed the gap on both of them but id of liked to see him wrestle Yazdani. The usa is loaded with &6kg guys. Taylor looks unbeatable tho right now. DT imo is the best US wrestler there is right now and prolly has been the past couple years.

No the Russian people supported this Genocide. Russia will treat any western “celebrity” very well. It’s good PR. Plus Dagestan is a little different than mainstream Moscow.
Snyder going to be going on a run of golds cause Russia isn’t gonna be at worlds or the Olympics anytime soon lol.

I’d put Sads/KS at 83/17 and DT/Yaz at 65/35.
Yaz HAS shown he can adapt to DT.
Snyder not so much.
