Somewhat OT: Joyner selected as SVP/ED of Andrews Institute

Does this mean he's padded his pension as much as possible and will be completely leaving the university?? We can only hope.

That's an interesting development. Joyner is the antithesis of the type of doc that gets recruited for that type of facility. I would bet that someone did him, once again, a favor, and that he won't last long there at all.

I wonder if they think he could open up some doors to Big Ten athletes? That is the only way this makes sense, if he is hired in fact as some kind of lobbyist. He sure isn't going to operate down there.

From the wording in the press release, it doesn't sound as though Joyner will actually be practicing medicine in this role; it seems like more of an administrative/recruiting/branding role.

I can think of a few recent PSU athletes he'd be a big hit with.

This is a quid pro quo for something. He just doesn't fit into that kind of situation.

You're right, he doesn't fit in at Andrews Institute, but Hollywood is a match.
