My primary area of research involves researching ancient sites in Turkey from the Greek, Hellenistic and Roman periods. I am particularly interested in Biblical sites from those periods. I am often asked to lead tour groups to Turkey. The trip that I am currently leading is a rough trip into the remote mountains in the Taurus range. One person on the trip is 72 years old and I had suspicions that this guy may not make it on some of the rigorous journeys. These involve as many as 8 hours of hiking and climbing. This fellow has made every journey without missing a step. On one of the trips, I wore my Penn State Wresting t-shirt. Turns out, he is the son of Hugh Linn, a former NCAA champion at 135 lbs. from Iowa State. His father won the championship in 1930 (I think) when the championships were held at Penn State. We had some great conversations with a fellow wresting fan. Anyone know Hugh Linn?

As a Christian who really enjoys the lay aspects of archaeology, especially as it relates to the Biblical narrative, it would be awesome to meet you one day. What are your thoughts on Joel Kramer and his archaeology videos? I just recently discovered his YouTube channel and have enjoyed his videos.

I love Joel Kramer videos and book. Especially loved the one he did on the the Mormon faith. Believe it's titled the Bible vs Joseph Smith or something like that. Great Channel for sure.

We had a cruise stop to take us to ruins of Ephesus in turkey. We learned that Ephesus was built multiple times because the meander river kept changing course. Hence the origin of the word meander. We also went to see Mary mother of Jesus home for her final years and brought home water from her spring.

I've never heard of Joel Kramer. I did a quick Google search and will try to see some of his videos after I return to the states in July. I will lead a group of professors and another group of pastors over the next several weeks. Meanwhile, check out The Last Apostle on Amazon Prime.
