Did anyone else listen to this? Unless I misunderstood something, Chael claimed that Bernie was charging 70k for a visit and Griffith 200k…

He talks fast and is matter of fact about everything he says, but he can be a total BS artist too. Wasn’t sure what to make of his claims. Just curious about what others heard or made of it…

From what I heard, Truax didn't even want to visit other schools, he wanted to go to PSU and sign. His dad encouraged him to see what's out there, maybe there are other fits. They were not seeking bags (not from Iowa or Penn State), now I can't comment if a bag is offered or not because I don't know but if Bernie told Cael he is charging to visit, he would hear a click immediately. With Brands, he'd hear some funny rant then a click.

I guess it’s just the Chael Sonnen speak thing, he spews out BS so fluidly that it’s hard to detect. Just surprised me to hear it on Warner’s podcast rather than some random video he dropped for views. Just made me double take and wanted to see what others thought and if anything like that had ever been discussed and I missed it…

To Pyles’ point, either all of these seemingly super nice kids happen to be super comfortable lying to the world, or paranoia and envy are driving certain fans to new levels of wild speculation. 🤔

I’ve been thought to be an easy mark before, but that’s because at root, I choose to believe most people are usually trying to do the right thing. It’s a choice I’m comfortable with.

My interpretation from what Chael said was that Truax was telling teams they need to commit $70K in compensation upfront for him to consider wrestling for them, otherwise don't even bother, not that he was charging $70K just to visit. But as others have pointed out, Chael throws so much against the wall that it's hard to separate fact from fiction. Then add to that what Truax actually said about his decision plus the fact his family is evidently not hurting for money...Maybe Pyle (as Chael so affectionately calls him) really is right this time.
