Sorry - The Zebras Gave This Game To Duke! *

Yeah. I could care less which team won but if I were Wisconsin I would be very disappointed with the officiating in the 2nd half. You could see the Wisconsin players were frustrated with the officials.

And Duke got the short end of it in the 1st half. It all evens out. Wisconsin had their chances and blew it big time. Only themselves to blame.

Clearly that first foul on Kominsky 36 minutes in turned the tide***

You see what you're looking to see. The only player in real foul trouble early was duke's best player and two of the fouls on him shouldn't have been fouls. Every time Duke wins some people claim the refs cheated for them. Wisconsin got all the calls against UK so I think the officials were way more pro Wisconsin this year than any other team. Duke played the best tournament and deserve to win. Blaming the officials gets old.

Bo Ryan basically called out the officiating after the game so I guess there is more to it than that. I am not a fan of either team.

You guys are a joke whining about refs in every game in every sport. Why no mention of a mere two fouls called on Wisc the first half? No wonder this board is the laughing stock of the big 10.

Could give to hoots to hell who won this game. Coach K worked the refs the entire first half, then got aggressive with the offense in the 2nd and the refs made a huge difference in the second half. Charges not called, ticky tack calls. Give Dukes defense credit for making Wisconsin work harder but if you don't see the refs having a huge impact on this game, you don't understand the game. Credit Coach K. He worked them like a puppet master.

I did not see the first half. My son had an indoor soccer game. So I cannot comment on the first half.

Feel free to go somewhere else then. Please. Maybe try the Wisky board and ask what they thought of the refs. Bo Ryan made his feelings known already (as did Coach K at the half).

I agree

K is a good coach but the lines between good and honest can blur. In the interview of K at halftime if you read between the lines he basically said that there'd be more calls against Wisky in the 2nd half. He was going to work it like there's no tomorrow. I don't doubt he's good at it but it's a shame that stuff like that matters.

They ought to have a rule that absolutely nobody on either bench can complain to the officials and it's a technical foul if they do. It would take some adjustment but after awhile it would become the norm and would be accepted.

Thanks for chiming in Bo, but

You had a 9 point lead and had Okafor and Winslow on the bench. You just couldn't finish. Sorry, but cannot pin that entirely on bad calls.

Re: Thanks for chiming in Bo, but

Wisconsin's poor half court offense in the second half largely did them in, but the officiating was really atrocious. Justice (SP?) Winston simply could not commit an offensive foul no matter how many times he blundered into Wisconsin defenders while stumbling down the lane. The blockinig call on Kaminsky when Winston flat our ran over him told you all you needed to know. Duke was gonna get all of the calls.

One big reason why I dislike the guy so.

Yeah Coach K works the refs and he was up against that poor inexperienced coach for Wisconsin...you know, the one that was nominated for the Hall of Fame this year? But only Coach K works the refs. Bo Ryan must have worked te refs against UK because he got all the calls and poor coach Calipari just didn't have any experience doing that. Come on. All the coaches work the refs and all of them are good at it or they wouldn't be coaching at that level. Bo Ryan does it just as much as Coach K.

Even if you are right, which you are not in this case, too bad. The Big Ten has it coming each and every time. So happy Wisconsin lost. And Ryan is classless.

Well I agree with you there. I didn't care who won just wanted to good game. But it does make me a little happy knowing Delaney got a taste of his own medicine. You know he has to be very disappointed with how things went yesterday and that he had no control over how the officials treated Wisconsin. and know matter how any of us feel about the officials. Ryan and th e Wisconsin players feel they were on the short end. What will be interesting is if Ryan gets fined like Chambers. Somehow I doubt it.

Re: Thanks for chiming in Bo, but

While I agree there were some really egregious calls (out of bounds off of Winslow), I cannot agree that Duke got every call. Otherwise, how do Winslow and Okafor ride the pine for so long with foul trouble. That is just not logical. As far as Kaminsky (a player I really like), he should have no complaints on calls. I have seen Michael Jordan take less steps to the basket and get called for travelling. I did think the officiating left something to be desired- the entire tournament. But for everyone to say Wisky got jobbed makes them sound a lot like..... Kentucky fans (because that is all I have heard from Wildcat fans since the Wisky game).

Again, 9 point lead and 2/3 of Duke's phenoms on the bench.... have to finish. That is on the Badgers, not the Zebras.

Most ACC fans would agree that Duke has it comming.**

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Winslow could have been called for charging several times late. But because it was him they either gave him a block or no call. He should have fouled out of the game. Duke was hand checking and then Wisconsin would hand check and they would flail and they would get the call. Grayson Allen pushed off on the way to the hoop to create space very obviously and then they give him the shot and the free throw. Now you either call him for the push off OR nothing you do not give him the free throw too. and he did that several times. I would have had no problem on a no call there but you can't give him the shot and the free throws. and this was all while Wisconsin had got the big lead. You could see Wisconsin getting frustrated with the officiating and that might have cost them the game. Cause it did seem to impact them.

Sorry, but I don't believe you. Someone is going to have to show me video evidence of Jordan getting called for traveling to convince me otherwise.

What a shock!! ILLINOISLION bitching about the officiating. ***nm

Sorry EPC - The Athletes Deserve Better Than What They're Getting! *

These kids / athletes ALL deserve better, I don't care who they play for or who they're playing against. I had no money / betting interest in last night's game.

I simply want a game called the same way for 40 minutes, called the same way for both teams and replay to work when it's called upon. I don't think that's too much to ask.

I actually felt the same way. Didn't care who won. Just wanted a good, clean officiated game. But it seems it is being universally acknowledged that the game was not officiated the best yesterday especially down the stretch.

Re: Thanks for chiming in Bo, but

lol

You are right. I guess I went too far trying to make a point, as I don't recall MJ ever getting called for travelling in the NBA. And just for fun I googled it.... and they don't recall it ever happening either. Apologies.
