They wanted Gen Butler to march on DC leading 500,000 veterans to oust FDR’s administration in a coup. Luckily the traitors picked the wrong guy and after gathering information on their network he informed FDR (who did nothing fearing the jailing of so many wealthy industrialists coulp cripple the fragile US economy) and blew the whistle during testimony in front of Congress.
