From Ohio/Buckeye wrestling board. Some of these guys are really clued in and Bob Preusse called Hall and Nick to us early - almost as early as Willie (perhaps they're both recruiting for us ). He's got a pretty good hit rate on recruits that have interest in Ohio State - whether they commit to the Bucks or other teams. Anyway, wrestling rumors are better than no wrestling talk.

The supposed timing is a surprise to me.

I have a question about the management of scholarship money. For the next two years, the two Lees are already in the fold. This year Gulibon and Morelli graduate. The following year, Retherford and Cutch and then a "mass" graduation the following year. How does Cael manage the scholarships - two in '17 and two in '18 (probably a creative way to more). High school sophis are a priority it seems.

Glen,
It appears to me that you're looking at wrestling as a "headcount" sport. It's not. Wrestling is an "equivalency" sport, where the 9.9 can be divvied up into tenths of scholarships, all the way up to a full ride...as long as 9.9 for the team is never exceeded.
We will never (nor should we) know how much scholarship money each kid gets, though in some cases the wrestlers do make public statements. We can talk about recruiting all day long (who we need, which weight classes are thin, uber-talents that are out there, recruit leans, etc.) but discussions about scholarship specifics would be speculative.

Did I read your post wrong? Hope this helps.

But I read that he was in IC with hawks gear on and sitting with McD. Doesnt that move them up from Dark Horse to just 2nd place?

Why trust Preusse, when we got it straight from Spyker. 100% batting average.

No, and thanks for the reply. I understand the 9.9 scholarships are broken up to cover more equivalency and that more than just money is a reason to go to a particular school. Cael is very good at attracting the uber-talents. The next three classes seem to present a problem to avoid the one down year. Two years of limited graduates and then a large class leaving. We saw the benefit this year of multiple red shirts coming on-line. Knowing he has a plan, how does he navigate to maintain the dominance?

Has Creedo weighed in yet?
Every time I see that name, I think of this guy:

Did Spencer's girlfriend make the Iowa cheerleading team? I heard tryouts were soon. I'm sure she's trying to get him to IC, she may lose him to the tail walking around Happy Valley. Uh oh...

If Cael wanted to, that 2017-2018 could break all the records at NCAA's and be the greatest team in NCAA history
125: Suriano/Lee

I doubt a lineup has ever had more raw wrestling talent than that.

No doubt.... Just looking at that is damn scary for opponents... just wins alone forget about bonus points. And they are all young and here for several years... domination on paper at its finest

University of Arizona is its rival in this department...I live about 16 miles from the U of A and sometimes its just nice to go down to Gentle Ben's, a bar right outside the main entrance to the U of A, have a beer and burger and watch "life" go by on a spring day like this. If my wife is with me, I just tell her to punch me before we leave home and get it out of the way. She has a nasty right hook.

My son is (hopefully) in his last year of grad school at U of A. Anyhow, his mother and I moved him down there in 2011. It was August. We walked around the campus before noon when it would be too hot. The sororities were out in full force on the Quad (I believe that's what they call it) involved with Rush activities.
With my wife with me, it was a challenge. Needless to say, I knew that he had made a wise choice for a 22 year old single guy.

Hah! If you think AZ has some scenery, you should get a ticket to Rio for the Olympics. I've been to Brazil about a dozen times, and believe me, that country is loaded with top level talent! And what makes it really interesting, (or really challenging depending on your marital status) they really like American guys.

At least the woman are Miss Universe type talent in Brazil... who needs them to be smart also?

And neither takes much to get into...our graduate schools are the academic attraction. Undergrad is straight up partying. With ASU, if you can spell your name 2/5 times, you're in like flynn
