I've decided to make the trip for the first time in 4 years.

Any chance we see 80,000 show up? I believe we saw around 72,000 last year and the hype for this program hasn't been this high in a long time. I'd like to see us have the largest spring crowd in the country.

all depends on the weather...

right now, accuwether predicting 55 with some rain. Friday, before the game, 64 & sunny. Sunday, high of 50 with rain. But I think they just make this crap up this far out.

If we get a nice sunny day, I suspect we will be in the 70K range. If we get a rain storm, 40k.

The crown depends on the weather. But realistically, the announced

crowds are never accurate. I have been to about 75% of the B/W games over the last 20 years. Even the areas that are "full" are not much over 50% full on average as defined on game days. On game days people are stuffed into the rows, where as at the B/W game people spread out alot. I'd estimate that it is only 80% dense with people in a very small portion of the seats that are "full" A lot of the "full" areas are really only 50-60% full (i.e. some openings, people spread out....). About the only seats that are really full are the individual seats, a small percentage of the stadium. And most of this area is usually reserved for recruits and there families and is only about 50% full.....

That said it's sweet when 2/3 of the stadium is pretty much covered for the B/W game, and then some big plays take place and you get a nice "roar".....

No, it doesn't "all" depend on the weather...

It never does. If and when people are hungry, excited, weather only marginally interferes with appetite.

In my humble opinion,

the late start time is going to adversely impact attendance.

Re: In my humble opinion,

It may possibly have an effect on the alumni/fans that are visiting State College, but my bet it will actually dramatically help the attendance of the PSU students. After having attended the Blue White game perhaps 12-15 times over the years, the students are the most unreliable and unpredictable for this game. Mostly because they simply don't like getting out of bed early and when the weather is bleak as is often the case for the spring game, they simply don't show up. My guess/hunch is that the later time will bring many of them to the game that may otherwise have blown it off. The weather still is a factor, but I believe many of the students will at least want to give it an appearance for a later afternoon game.

So, all those empty seats in Michigan Stadium for their spring game means

they aren't hungry and excited for the beginning of the Harbaugh era?

you're right, depends if the CJF has a SG attendance clause in his contract

weather .

Apparently, you're a polarized poster wedded to the word "all."

No 50 shades of grey?

Re: I can only assume You don't understand desire.

If we're going down to the wire in November for a B10 ring, and you have a pair of seats, meteorological discomfort will keep you away? Okay.

You maybe.

But not me.

We are talking about the B/W game and the biggest attendance

factor by far, and it's not even close, is the weather. A nice sunny day and you'll get 75,000. A cold, blustery, wet day and we'll be lucky to see 50,000. We're not talking about a regular season game.

Attendance was reported to be 70k. I didn't see game, but highly doubt they got 70k there.

You're missing the point.

Rain will maybe keep away 20-30K.

Would it keep away 20-30K in a B1G championship showdown? Of course not.

So it's not "all' about the weather, and it never is.
