St Louis up 2-0 after one period in a game that feels like Boston s/b leading by 3-4 goals.

StL goes over 15 minutes without a shot while their goalie is making remarkable save after remarkable save. StL then scores with about 3-4 minutes left on only their third shot of the game then scores again with less than 10 secs left on their fourth shot of the game.

The game feels like Boston s/b up at least 3-0, 4-0, 4-1.

First game of the series that I’ve watched, extremely entertaining.

Still StL 2-0 after two.

Boston 23-10 shots on goal. Binnington spectacular in goal for StL!

This is quite a run of first time champions.
Blues, Caps, Eagles (already had NFL championships), Cavs, probably Raptors. Prefer this over the dynasties.

Edit: correct me if I am wrong (and I am sure I will be corrected), add Astros to the list. And the Cubs (lol , when you win after 100 years, it feels like the first time). I suppose you can stretch and say the Royals broke a lovable loser streak as well

Same thing happened in reverse to the Blues. Rask was awesome in game 6 and after the Bruins broke through it was a different game. BB down 3 with 2 minutes left.

Binnington is an incredible sports story. Team was in last place in January and bring up a minor league goalie.

Much respect to Chara Rask and Marchand

I’m just glad lots of Patriots fans are unhappy this morning. Even if it’s only because the Bruins lost.
I’d trade a Cup for a Super Bowl. Hockey was my first love. But, I take solace in knowing The Pats are so in Yinz heads it affects you during hockey season

Boston is the city of champions so to have one of their teams go down is a good thing IMO. It’s sports socialism - share the wealth.

I could care less about the Pats fans so long as they are good fans. Many of the Bruin fans seemed a bit too spoiled and arrogant for my taste. Booing during the cup presentation is so classless. I’m sure some of it comes with the territory of having championship
Sports teams, but show a little more respect.

I believe they were booing the commish. That seems to be a big thing at all trophy presentations these days.

Highest TV ratings for a hockey game ever!

ps.... kudos on your early prediction, one of the big stories around St Louis is about a guy who put a $400 bet on the Blues back in January and ended up winning $100k. He was offered 10k, 20k, 40k to sell his ticket before the finals and declined.

Thanks, just went out on a limb for the fun of it. Didn't have the guts to put money on it!

Surprised about the ratings being so high. St Louis is a small market with a poor track record. Guess people really like an underdog!
